Bomb Threats at 44 Bengaluru Schools Prompt Police Investigation
According to authorities, forty-four private schools in Bengaluru received bomb threats via email on Friday morning. According to the email, explosives had been placed on school property.
After being alerted right away, police have begun scouring the schools for any suspicious items.
All of the schools that received the bomb threat—including those in Whitefield, Koremangala, Basveshnagar, Yalahanka, and Sadashivanagar—have bomb disposal squads assigned to them.
“We are confirming the email’s origin. We’re treating this with seriousness.
“I have notified the police to investigate this matter immediately,” stated G Parmeshwar, the home minister of Karnataka.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dyanand stated.
“Despite the calls seeming to be a hoax, the police are taking no chances and are making every effort to trace the culprits responsible.
Bengaluru Schools Receive ‘Bomb Threat’ Emails: Security Measures in Place
‘Bomb threat’ emails were received this morning by a few schools in Bengaluru city.
Bomb detection and anti-sabotage teams have been called upon to confirm and investigate.
Seems like the calls are scams.
“We will make every effort to find the offenders even after that,” Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dyanand wrote on X.
One of the schools sent out a parent notice on the bomb threat.
“We’re running into an unforeseen circumstance at school today.
Unknown sources have sent a security threat to the school.
We have chosen to promptly remove the pupils because we place the safety of our children above anything else,” the statement stated.
Police Action and Security Measures Initiated After Bengaluru School Bomb Threats
In an attempt to calm parents, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Friday,
Precautionary measures have been implemented, and there’s no need for parents to panic.
I’ve given the police instructions to look into this, and they will.
One of the schools that was threatened with a bomb is close to the home of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.
After seeing the news on TV, I was horrified to learn that several schools I knew about—including the one close to my house—were named.
The police are looking into the problem as of the time I spoke with them.
