Mallikarjun Kharge’s ‘400 Paar’ Amusement in Rajya Sabha
A gaffe committed by Congress chairman Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday made the treasury benches in the Rajya Sabha chuckle a lot, and it also became an uncommon example of the government fully endorsing a statement made by an opposition leader.
“Aapka itna bahumat hai, pehle 330, 334 thi, ab to ‘400 paar’ ho raha hai (You have a majority of 330, 334 seats and 400 is being crossed now)” was Mallikarjun Kharge statement during his House speech on the topic of women’s representation.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was present in the House, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, members of the Treasury benches, and even Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar laughed at the Congress chief’s gaffe, even though the BJP had set a goal of winning over 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Mallikarjun Kharge’s Statement Draws Laughter and BJP’s Response
Mr. Kharge attempted to correct his statement among the laughs when Mr. Goyal stood up and declared, “Today, Kharge ji has finally said the truth and nothing but the truth.”
The BJP also made fun of the Congress President by posting a snippet of the address on X. The caption with the video read, “PM Modi be like, ‘I need new haters, the old ones have become my fans…'”
